Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for my handmade silver jewelry?
Silver is meant to be worn and loved. Over time, it may naturally tarnish — this is simply silver’s way of responding to the air, your skin, and the world around it. Each order from Mudbug Metalworks includes a polishing cloth and an anti-tarnish bag to help you keep your piece glowing. Lotions, perfumes, and harsh chemicals can harm silver, so allow them to fully absorb and dry before putting on your jewelry. Gently polish as needed, store your piece in the provided bag when not worn, and with a little care, your silver will carry its story beautifully for years to come.
Is your jewelry water-safe?
Silver and water don’t always make the best adventure partners. While occasional contact won’t harm your piece, we recommend removing your jewelry before swimming, showering, or soaking to preserve its shine and longevity.
How should I store my jewelry?
When your piece isn’t being worn, tuck it safely into the anti-tarnish bag included with your order. Keeping silver in a dry, protected space helps preserve its shine and keeps it ready for your next adventure.
Are your pieces one-of-a-kind?
Yes! Every piece we create is one of a kind. No two stones are the same, and each design is shaped by hand, inspired by a specific moment of discovery. When a piece is gone, it’s gone — making the one you choose uniquely yours.
Where do your stones come from?
Most of our stones are sourced within the United States and hand-selected by us. We’re drawn to the character and story each stone carries — its colors, textures, and natural markings. Occasionally, we work with opal sourced outside the U.S., chosen with the same care and intention.
Will my jewelry arrive gift-ready?
Yes! Every piece from Mudbug Metalworks arrives beautifully presented in a carefully designed box, ready to give or treasure for yourself. Inside, you’ll also find an anti-tarnish bag and polishing cloth to help your jewelry shine for years to come. Every detail of the packaging is meant to reflect the care, craftsmanship, and story of the piece within.
What is your return or exchange policy?
Each piece we create is one-of-a-kind and shaped by hand. Because of the unique nature of our work, we do not offer returns or exchanges. Please review all photographs and information on each piece before purchasing. If you have any additional questions about a piece, please contact us.
What if my piece arrives damaged?
Every order is shipped with insurance. Once an item has been shipped it is in the care and responsibility of the shipping carrier. We will provide tracking information. However, we cannot control the package's handling or delivery. Once USPS has received the shipment, it is out of our hands. If your order arrives damaged, please do not throw away the shipping box, packaging materials, or damaged jewelry, and do not attempt to repair or alter the piece. You may be required to show photographs of these things to the shipping carrier in order to file a claim.
